Modern Africa: Politics, History, and Society is a no-fee open access peer-reviewed academic journal (see ROAD and DOAJ)published by the Philosophical Faculty, University of Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. Published in English, the journal makes accessible original texts covering important political, social and historical themes concerning Africa. Its editorial policy encourages an interdisciplinary approach, involving the humanities and social sciences, including political studies, history, sociology, anthropology, gender studies, environmental and development studies, etc.
Modern Africa: Politics, History and Society is published twice a year. Each issue includes the following sections: Research articles, Reports, and Reviews. The journal is open access as all issues are open. It is also possible to buy the newest issue in printed version. The journal is indexed or abstracted in the European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences (ERIH Plus), Ebsco Sociology Source, Google Scholar, DOAJ or International Political Science Abstracts (on selective basis).
